I'm a wedding photographer based out of South Bend, Indiana.

I believe in always having a vase full of fresh flowers, especially during peony season. That ending a long day should always be on the patio, with a good book and a glass of rosé. And, going to the beach is always a good idea.

Naperville, Illinois Engagement Photographers | May 19, 2012

I had a blast being in Chicago last weekend. I took Josie along with me to help me (and to go shopping) and she turned herself into the perfect assistant. Anyone else will have some big shoes to fill. When I first met Elizabeth and Stephen, it was the day before Christmas Eve. I had already booked them over the phone a few months prior to that meeting, so it was nice to just get to know them. They had quite a bit planned at that point and already had a great direction to go in. As I’ve followed Elizabeth on Pinterest, I’ve gotten more and more excited for her engagement session because I knew she’d be up for anything.

The plan was to start at a park nearby to take pictures with their dog. Those images will then turn into the table number at their reception (sorry, I won’t be posting those, they can be a secret). Then, after taking the dog home, we went to this Arboretum (a.k.a. HEAVEN). This was absolutely gorgeous and I probably could’ve stayed there all evening if the sun wasn’t setting and we needed to move downtown. Which, we did. We ended the session in downtown Naperville. Even though it was quite busy with tons of people with cabin fever, we rocked it out and got some great shots.
