I'm a wedding photographer based out of South Bend, Indiana.

I believe in always having a vase full of fresh flowers, especially during peony season. That ending a long day should always be on the patio, with a good book and a glass of rosé. And, going to the beach is always a good idea.

Hi, I'm
Katie

There is a lot of debate out there about what a photographer should wear to a wedding. While I don’t think there is a “one-size fits all” uniform, I am a people watcher and I have seen couples (and read Bride forums) that clearly stated their opinion.

Colors

A good rule of thumb is to choose dark, neutral colors when possible. Many go with the standard black, but I’m not really a black slacks person. I have them and I wear them, but I will almost always choose my navy dresses or slacks over my black any day.

Shoes

Still going with the dark, neutral colors, I would make sure they are non-slip and comfortable shoes. I’m always looking for my next pair of “comfortable shoes”, but I really don’t think they exist for women (or men, Chris has been searching for years). I would also suggest shoes that don’t make noises. It makes being a ninja a lot easier.

Style

This is the one that I would assume couples have a problem with. Please wear something that will either blend you into the background (ie. black) or something you’d wear to a wedding. I’m not saying you have to wear a tux or a suit, cocktail dress or ball gown, but for heaven sake, don’t show up to a black tie wedding wearing a white v-neck undershirt with a tan leather vest over it with jeans. Consider your clientele, ask them the attire of their wedding. Even a nicer polo is better than the v-neck and jeans.
