One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is documenting the first day a couple spends as husband and wife. It’s a union that is often shared with friends and family surrounding them with so much love and encouragement. As a guest, you watch a union and are present as a supporter. Often, an officiant will ask the congregation to make a commitment to the couple that as an attendee of the wedding, you are there to agree to help them through rough times. This was the first time I witnessed the officiant (which was Nathan’s own father-that’s was so special in of itself) asked both parents to continue to support their children as they marry the other. It was almost as if he was saying, “we are done raising our children, let’s all agree to help them grow in their marriage and be there to support them when they need it”.
It was obvious to both Chris and myself that we amongst a special kind of love. It’s clear that each set of parents raised their child to love like there is no tomorrow so that they may have a strong marriage. Watching the families become one really was as if the marriage made both Natalie’s family and Nathan’s family a new family unit. Each smile that Nathan gave to Natalie was just a genuine as the way Natalie snuggled into his arms.
They had a small wedding of about 45. It was the perfect size to stay intimate and special. Natalie wanted a pretty pastel pink with beige tones and LOTS of sparkle. She absolutely got what she was looking for. The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception just exploded with gorgeousness… Are you ready to see it all?
This bouquet looked exactly like the picture Natalie showed me. Great job, Merry Me Events
I absolutely LOVE when Chris is there during portraits of the bride and groom. There are two distinct looks and yet they are perfectly blended together.
I’ll take one ring bearer and one flower girl, please!!!!! And please make sure they are ADORABLE as these two.
Beautiful decor from Merry Me Events.
Very rarely are we at a reception to see the daytime and nighttime mood transition so Chris decided to show what the progression looks like. Blue Heron did a great job with the uplighting.
In case you didn’t see this as the sneak peek on Facebook. While Chris was taking this next image and I was holding the flash, I was noticing that behind the bride and groom, you could slowly see the Chicago skyline block the sunset creating this amazing pattern in the sky. I’ve heard of it happening but have never witnessed it, it’s GORGEOUS!
gorgeous sunset AND i just love all the images with the pup!! <3
Every single image is gorgeous but those detail shots are insanely beautiful!!
The puppy (while she’s getting ready) and the ring bearer ones have to be my favorite just because they are soooo cute! These are beautiful and so was their wedding!
Beautiful wedding and photos! Love so many things about it… the puppy, the venue, her ruffly dress and so much more. I also now think that EVERY wedding reception needs a fire pit.
Wow! Your detail and reception shots are off the hook!! Also, can’t help but love the YORKIE in the wedding 😀
THOSE SUNSET IMAGES!!! Wow! And a Smores bar?? I’m so there.
Those portraits and details are insane! Gorgeous!!
They look like such a fun couple!! The dog was the prefect detail! 🙂
