I'm a wedding photographer based out of South Bend, Indiana.

I believe in always having a vase full of fresh flowers, especially during peony season. That ending a long day should always be on the patio, with a good book and a glass of rosé. And, going to the beach is always a good idea.

Hi, I'm
Katie

All around her was tall, lush, green trees and rope pathways from treehouse to treehouse. She was in a completely different world than she was use to but she was happy there, because he was there. As the fog rolled in, it was time for her to leave this haven in the forest and a man she knew she loved. He wrapped his left arm around the rope and his right arm around her waist and slid down. As he put her in the boat and said goodbye, he knew that all he was doing was for the greater good and to one day love her all the days of his lives.

This was my favorite scene in “Robin Hood: Prince of Theives” when I was 5. It makes complete sense to me now that I DESTROYED my sister’s VHS of that movie watching the music video to “Everything I Do, I Do it For You”. It was my favorite song and my life’s mantra. I have always done everything I could for my family. However, I believe that my love of this movie is more than just the movie. While thinking about the next part to write about in “My Great Love” series, I thought of this scene and realized that this was the perfect movie to describe what I always dreamed of for when I married.

I am unequivocally a hopeless romantic by nature and I always dreamed of a love that was from a completely different era. Maybe not Robin Hood era, but definitely one that we don’t live, that’s for sure. I didn’t have much hope in the young life that I lived before I met Chris that I would ever find a man that would be kind, loving and honest. I guess that’s why I fell so hard so fast for him. As I wrote about it in my last post, there was a VERY specific person that was created for me and I’m really thankful that I found him to so early on. I have spent the last 9 years with a man that I continue to fall in love with a regular basis. Mind you, love doesn’t always come easy, we are both human after all. I believe in love and I believe in marriage and no matter how hard things have been, I will always choose to pour my heart and soul into a relationship that was designed by a God that knew exactly the kind of life long partner that I needed.

(See how he’s wearing a backwards cap?)

  6. I love it! And I feel the same way about my husband. We are such an amazingly perfect fit that it feels like we were tailor made for each other. Working in an industry that is all about love, we see so many different kinds of relationships, and some of them are amazing, but at the end of the day, I wouldn’t want any other than the one I have.
