Patchwork Quilt Inn Middlebury Wedding : Kristen & Casey

One sunny September afternoon Kristen and Casey met at their first home school cross-country practice of the 2007 season. In the months to follow Kristen actively tried to catch the attention of a shy high school Casey. After many countless intentional attempts to win over Casey she was finally succeed! In May 2008, Kristen asked Casey to Prom. Yes, you read it right… Kristen asked Casey to prom! And yes, Homeschoolers do have proms! Although, Casey declined the first invitation by Kristen to attend prom with her, he finally wised up and accepted the second invite. The show went off without a hitch and so began the story of Kristen and Casey.

The 5 year anniversary of Kristen and Casey fell on the week of the yearly Chopp family vacation, this year being the Outer Banks in NC, 2014. They got dolled up and took a break from the family to head into town for a romantic dinner of lobster and crab; followed by heading to the ocean to watch the sunset. Walking over the bridge to settle on the rocks with the water crashing around they watched the sun dip into the water behind the clouds. Before the finial setting Casey dipped his knee into the ocean and pulled out the ring. “Kristen, I have known that I loved you since the day I first met, will you marry me?” To get back at him she considered saying no, but who could resist?
