I'm a wedding photographer based out of South Bend, Indiana.

I believe in always having a vase full of fresh flowers, especially during peony season. That ending a long day should always be on the patio, with a good book and a glass of rosé. And, going to the beach is always a good idea.

Hi, I'm
Katie

Your session should represent who you are as a couple and as individuals. I typically recommend 3 outfits to give you options…one per location. I would also highly recommend thinking of them as “date looks” and then choosing from the 4 categories I have listed below and then what those terms mean to who you are.

Never feel like you have to wear what doesn’t feel like you. Use the rule of thumb of the 4 outfit types and then close your eyes and think about what that means for you. If you went on a date, what would you wear?

Refined casual

Casual, but polished so it’s not just your every day

It doesn’t matter if casual means a silk top and white jeans or jeans and a jersey. Refined casual is whatever you’d wear on a date where you are allowing yourself to have the time of your life.

Classic chic

Turning casual up just a notch, be the next influencer

This is an easy one for most girls. You likely are already planning this one as it’s more like a flowy dress of any kind. Heck, I’m wearing one as I write this because I’m trying to be comfortable between working and running errands as a mom in the summer.

Metropolitan dressy

Sophistication with a tailored fit

This is somewhere between casual and cocktail attire. It’s less likely that you’ll wear this to a park, but if you have plans to take your photos by a museum, this is a great option.

Timeless formal

Who doesn’t love a good cocktail dress

Oh the little black dress. It’s a staple in most of our closets. It can be as simple as that or think in terms of what you might wear as a wedding guest.
