It was the summer of 2008. Hilary was visiting before her freshman year at Saint Mary’s College when she met another incoming freshman, Dayne, who would be attending the University of Notre Dame. Over the course of their college years, they spent time together at school, loving together, growing together, learning together, and overcoming obstacles together. Since he is from California and she is from Michigan, Notre Dame was representative of their story and relationship and is the most mutually important place to them. Notre Dame will forever be a part of their story and has influenced their relationship, friendships, career choices, faith, etc.
Choosing a Spring wedding on Notre Dame’s campus was a no brainer since it’s the most beautiful time to really visit. Their overall goal was to pull through their personalities and the profound impact that Notre Dame has had on their relationship and lives in general. Hilary wanted their day to be emblematic of the love they’ve shown one another throughout the last seven years through the best of times and the worst of times, cross-country moves, career changes, etc. She want the wedding to be romantic and grounded in Notre Dame tradition, but also a party for the books.
