I remember researching for my backyard garden a few years ago. I desperately wanted to do something like an English Garden. One day, I came across Jennifer talking about her beautiful garden as she herself was gearing up for a lush summer harvest full of everything I wanted in my garden. I quickly learned that her garden was at the grounds of the gorgeous Greencrest Manor, a stunning English-inpired wedding venue that is basically in my backyard. Only 2.5 hours north in Battle Creek, Michigan. When she announced she was hosting a vendor event before unveiling off her new space, the Millhaven.
The ivy covered sides of Greencrest Manor is the first thing you saw as I pulled up to the manor. It’s literally like driving up to a Nancy Myers movie. There is a little house that was perfectly designed for a simple, effortless your reception. With multiple french doors that can open to let the breeze in.
But, can we talk about the garden? I took my shoes off and couldn’t help but gravitate to the beautiful English Garden. I could picture this as my own backyard. Between the foxgloves, roses & phlox, I could picture hold a cup of coffee, grass between my toes and weeding my own beautiful garden.
I left inspired. Even though my garden isn’t exactly an English Garden, I love doing the same thing in my own garden and look forward to planting more every year.
In the meantime, who wants to get married here so I can photograph it? So breathtaking!!!
