It’s not hard to tell that I love weddings. When I was a little girl, attending a wedding with my family was always exciting. To me, it meant to new chapter being written and an excuse to dance my little heart out. It’s no surprise that I became a wedding photographer. I may not dance at weddings regularly, but I do still enjoy every single wedding I attend. Here are my top 6 things I LOVE about weddings.
Groom’s first look
When you see the excitement, joy and love in a Groom’s eye as his Bride walks down the aisle. There is nothing more romantic and I love capturing this particular moment because I always want a them to have a reminder of that first feeling as they became husband and wife.
Dad’s face as he gives his daughter away
Once a Daddy’s Girl, always a Daddy’s Girl. I will never not tear up when I see Dad elated as he walks his little girl down the aisle.
Mother & son dance
Let’s be real, it will be a miracle if I get to have a Mother/Son Dance with my own son should he ever marry. I think that’s why this moment is so special to me. It’s a moment that I may never have and I want to make sure to document that special relationship between a mother & son.
Relationships of the family
Weddings are always a great excuse for family & friends to get together. It’s a crazy thought, but weddings are just as much about your friends & family as it is about the two of you. Each person there was part of you coming together one way or another. It’s important to try and document all of them, somehow.
Heirloom
Your wedding day is the next chapter in your lives together. I absolutely love the idea of your grandchildren going through your wedding album on Christmas and really being able to feel like they were part of the day.
Invoking emotions
Pictures are never just pictures. My goal is to always invoke an emotion of joy every time you look at your wedding pictures.
