They met in law school at the University of Notre Dame. I imagine he was entranced by her beautiful, blue eyes when he first saw her and she was drawn in by his incredible smile. But, how could they not fall in love with one another? I had already known Ashley from a distance since her friend’s wedding in 2010, but when I met Chris during her senior portraits in 2013, I could tell then that a great love was forming. The way he cared for her (and her dog, Mischief) was beautiful. The way they looked at one another was reminiscent of the greatest Hollywood love stories. There was no doubt in my mind they would one day be married.
Their day reflected the love they have for one another; it was happy, bright and flowed flawlessly. The Basilica of Sacred Heart ceremony was befitting the elegant traditions they both share, while the modern flair of their South Bend Country Club reception created the perfect backdrops for their wonderful wedding day.
Yes, I am in complete love with these turquoise wedding shoes and the custom Converse that Ashley’s bridesmaids made for her.
Thistle in wedding bouquets are becoming my favorite accents for beautiful ring shots.
Seriously though, could MichaelAngelo’s Event company have done a better job with the amazing bouquets?
How GORGEOUS are these ladies! Thanks to the amazing team at Nicholas J Salon for nailing it.
I have been dreaming about this location as a first look for so long. I was so happy that these two lawyers took advantage of the situation and created such a beautiful memory under the Law School arches on campus.
The way he looks at her is everything.
The priest was given a minute to minute timeline for his sermon, he may or may not have gone over by 10 minutes. 😉
The majesty of a Basilica of Sacred Heart at Notre Dame wedding is breathless.
The selfless act of serving their guests communion speaks to Ashley & Chris’ character as they move into a marriage that is sure to be just as selfless and loving.
Lighting his first candle at the Grotto with his new wife…I’m swooning over this moment.
As we were walking back to the limo, we saw this 1970s Turquoise Ford Mustang (which happens to be Ashley’s dream car) and we just HAD to take a picture with it. Lucky for us, the owner wasn’t far away and was more than willing to allow us to do whatever we wanted with his car.
This was probably my FAVORITE moment of the day.
Oh, my goodness! This turquoise cake from SugarRush Desserts was amazing. Not only pretty, but delicious too!
A signature turquoise cocktail? Yes, please!
Dad challenged his mom to a dance off..
Mom accepted, and nailed it!
This dance floor was packed all afternoon.
Congratulations to Chris and Ashley… May your wedding be a reminder of just how beautiful, full of joy and as perfect a marriage can be.
