The day began like any other day. An excited Kelanie was ready for her moment to finally marry the love of her life and best friend, Drew. A small change in plans with morning showers, Kelanie was quickly eased that the day was going to turn around and be amazing regardless of the weather.
Kelanie surrounded herself that morning with her 5 bridesmaids, her mom, his mom and an amazing team of hair and makeup in the bridal suite at the Inn at Amish Acres. There was laughter, love, mimosas and bagels. What more could a girl need? After slipping into her gorgeous Blushing Bride gown, she put on the Groom’s late grandmother’s blue topaz earrings, and her new sister-in-law’s veil. Wrapped around her bouquet, the maid of honor’s bouquet and her mother’s corsage was lace from her mother’s wedding dress.
Drew had some pretty amazing Notre Dame Fighting Irish cufflinks that Kelanie bought for him. His all black 3-piece suite was pretty hot to be in, but the guys wore them like champs and looking super dapper in them.
Their ceremony was inside the Amish Acres Round Barn Theatre and it was perfect. I had many discussions with Kelanie before the day about the mood of the theatre and the spotlights that would be on them more than their bridal party. Overall, I was so excited to photograph their ceremony in a different kind of location and the mood was perfectly placed.
Since their wedding was in a barn, Kelanie went with a more authentic, organic look with her decor. I am not sure I would say “rustic”, but it definitely had the feeling of flowers freshly picked from the garden. The tables had mismatched chairs, simple place settings and an overall look of simplistic elegance. Although the light couldn’t be dimmed, the reception was still a great time for everyone. Will from EA Pro Music did a great job with the mood that he was given by Amish Acres to create a dancefloor atmosphere that was still enjoyable for anyone still sitting at their seats or walking around talking.
Kelanie & Drew, I am super sad that your wedding has come and gone because I always enjoy your company, but I am so over the moon for you in your new adventure together.
