I'm a wedding photographer based out of South Bend, Indiana.

I believe in always having a vase full of fresh flowers, especially during peony season. That ending a long day should always be on the patio, with a good book and a glass of rosé. And, going to the beach is always a good idea.

Hi, I'm
Katie

Imagine being a freshman in college and you walk into your first week of choir rehearsals and you see a cute guy that embodies everything you ever thought the word joy could mean. That’s how I envision it was like for Katherine when she first met Dan. Getting to know one another was a weekly thing while they rehearsed, sang and traveled together for 2 years…with the rest of the choir. Both Katherine & Dan are loving, inspirational and have an impact on others that I’m not sure either of them realize.

Listening to toasts at the reception, you knew just how these two had touched those around, both as individuals and as a couple. Katherine is the kind of girl that likes to laugh and cares deeply about her friends and family. Dan is a guy who knows exactly what he wants and has a way of welcoming others into his world just by cracking a joke. Watching them interact was just beautiful. Their love was put to some pretty big, heartbreaking challenges and they have come out stronger than before because they were there to be the other’s legs when the other could stand alone. That is what I call a relationship goal.

I have never met a couple that had me laughing and crying as much as these two did. They included me into their day as a friend, not just their photographer. Dan also told me that my personality makes me seem 8′ tall…I’m 5’2″.

The Morris Inn‘s yellow wall was the perfect backdrop for the yellow bouquets that MichaelAngelo’s Event Company designed.. JUST gorgeous

I secretly want to go back through all of my Basilica weddings to see if I can find Katherine & Dan in the choir. This was the most amazing performance I’ve seen in a choir at a wedding. They incorporated song and instruments throughout the entire mass and even had it continue into formals afterward. It was well deserving of a standing ovation.

The fact that Katherine & Dan’s fathers were holding hands during communion was very symbolic of the two families joining together.

During Dan’s speech at the reception, he explained that there were prayer candles for his guests to leave a prayer request and the next day, the two of them would light a candle and say a prayer for the request. This just shows how they care and love others.

My favorite centerpieces were on the Parents’ tables. So pretty and intimate!

Their first dance was a song that one of their groomsmen played for them. It was magical.

Dan’s mother passed away a few years ago and to honor her, he asked all of the son’s to grab their moms and share a dance with him and one of his 3 women of honor. Dan, I have to say this got me. As a mother, I can only hope that I love my own son in a way that demands the type of love you showed with this dance.
